Hi everyone! So recently I have been getting into this new cool Disney Cookbook that my husband has found at our local thrift store here in Canada that we call Value Village. The first ever recipe that I made in this book is called Split Pea Soup.
It is soooo easy to make because instead of waiting for hours to make on the stove, I made this all in the instant pot for just 30 minutes on high pressure!
INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS
On Saute mode in the instant pot, saute onions, carrots, and garlic with the amount of olive oil. As the recipe recalls, make sure that the onions are translucent before you put split peas into the pot. I used a mixture of split peas and lentils. By the way, the carrots do not have to be perfect because once cooking they will mix with the split peas and I mashed them with the potato masher.

Once everything is ready and you can see that the onions are translucent, add in the split peas, mix, and add the dill, salt, pepper, water and broth into the pot. (I added dried dill as I always have it in hand). Then add on for high pressure for 30 minutes with the sealing mode on.

Once soup is ready, switch the mode to venting until all the pressure is out.
Next, take a potato masher and mash everything, by this point everything may look thick, so it’s okay to add more water to make the soup look like it’s more of a soup then a chunky mess haha! The recipe book did mention that if the soup is thick, add more water, so that’s what I did 🙂 .

I Hope you enjoyed this quick recipe! If you don’t have an instant pot it’s okay because you can also make this on the stove for 2-3 hours mixing every so often to make sure the soup doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan.
